I brought my car here on July 15th to have it diagnosed and repaired after it developed serious handling issues. After their diagnostic, I was told what needed to be repaired and given a price. I ultimately paid $2,630.91 for the work. My biggest issue with this experience was the communication and the condition in which I received my vehicle. Throughout the repair process, I had to repeatedly call for updates. I was given multiple estimated completion dates that changed, and at one point I was told the car was finished, so I sent the remaining half of my payment. I later found out the alignment still had not been completed. After additional delays, I was finally told the vehicle was ready. Shortly after leaving, I experienced the same serious handling/swerving issue I originally brought the car in for, including several instances on Lake Shore Drive where I felt I was losing control of the vehicle. I immediately returned it to the shop. I later test-drove the vehicle with the manager and explained what I was experiencing. I brought my VW Passat to Auto Haus for an oil change, new brakes, and replacement front control arms, spending nearly 3k in total. Shortly after the service, it developed a major oil leak while I was driving. An independent repair shop determined that Auto Haus had installed the wrong oil filter and o-ring. A Volvo oil filter (Mahle OX 370D) not meant for Volkswagens. After the correct oil filter and O-ring were installed, the leak stopped completely. Was told by the mechanic, had I not noticed the leak, the speed in which the engine was losing oil he is surprised it did not cause the engine to seize. I provided Auto Haus with the repair invoice, photos, and receipts, but they refused to refund the oil change or reimburse the additional repair costs. Would not even admit they made a mistake. The front desk guy stated "If the filter fit, then it was the correct filter" despite the clear differences between the o-ring they installed (the thinner one in photos) and the correct o-ring (thicker one in photos). I highly recommend AutoHaus. They are very efficient and honest. When I first moved to Chicago last November I just wanted to have my Jeep inspected after a long road trip from CA. They did it free of charge. I have since continued to use them for all my Jeep needs. Even living down in Hyde Park now I make the drive up. Why? Because I have built trust with them and they do a fantastic job.

I had a great experience at Autohaus. The staff were all very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things. I took my car in less than an hour before they closed because a check engine light had turned on. They were kind enough to take a look and give me a fair assessment and price to fix the issue. I was impressed with the service and would definitely recommend them. I normally dread going to the mechanic fearing being ripped off but that was not the case here.

I had a slow leak in my tire which worsened fairly quickly. I called Autohaus since it’s nearby and was pleased to learn they are an authorized Tesla repair center. The staff was very polite and conscientious. I needed a new tire due to the location of the issue and they were able to replace it with the exact tire and return the car to me the same day as promised. Since they are an authorized Tesla service center and provided strong customer service, I will use them again if necessary.
